Thought I'd try out the clearday template, unfortunately it caused my site to become inaccessible, "white screeen of death" deleted the template from mods directory but still can't get back in. Any ideas how to solve this?

You must log in to post replies.I think you should delete the template from the mod directory and the run the upgrade script.
Or, try upgrading your template to make it compatible with the newer version of Elgg. Please, visit the following link. This should help you upgrade your template to 1.7.1

this is a strange "free" theme -- there's links back to their website splattered all over the views ;-) the wsod is somewhat difficult to debug without looking over your shoulder at your screen and the actual code that's causing the problem ;-(
@Shouvik and @Dhrup thanks both of you for commenting, the weird thing to me is that after deleting the template from the mod directory, my site is still inaccessible. It even seems as though upgrade.php isn't running. http://elgg.edureshet.org.il
As comments are not open on the actual download page for this template here on the community http://community.elgg.org/mod/community_plugins/read.php?guid=519591 there's no way of "warning" others about this problem.
Susan,
I've seen themes before that actually overwrite some core views ;-) so that even after disabling and deleting, their bad after-taste remains ! The WSOD is always caused by PHP code syntax error(s) - cannot quite be debugged via this topic platform. If you have time and can screenshare your site - I will give you some time to investigate and hopefully bring your site back to life.. while I'm sipping my McCafe here ;-O
Dhrup -Many thanks for the offer :)
I'm hoping that my hosts will be able to roll the site back to its previous state using yesterdays backup, and would hate to waste your time (and spoil your Coffee), if indeed they can do it. Luckily the site is still in dev stage so losing content won't be a problem.
very cool! I didn't know you were also an artist
here's hoping that your backup rollback brings a "clear day" for your site ;-)
