It just give you some extra funcionalities for groups.

When enable it make sure it is loaded after the groups plugin :)

What happens if I would disable the plugin somewhen? Would I loose the "non standard" groups or run in any other kind of problem?

If you disabled the plugin your groups just looks like a normal group.

I tried it now but when I activate your Plugin it breaks the group layout. Latest forum messages are no longer being displayed and the guestbook appears in the right collumn, leaving the left one empty. Also disabled the theme I am using with no effect. Any ideas?

What elgg version are you using? This plugin has some features that only works with elgg 1.2 rev > 2531.

About the group layout, rename views/default/groups/profileitems.php to another name and try again and let me know if the problem persists. This plugin overwrite some views related with the profile layout.

On the admin page I can see that I am using "Release - 1.2, Version - 2008120901". Is 2531 from svn or a official release? I downloaded from here http://elgg.org/downloads.php.

when I rename profileitems.php the site looks fine again but the latest discussion is still missing.

I now upgraded to the latest svn version (overwrote all folders and ran upgrade.php) and still all information appears in the right collumn, leaving the left completely empty.

But latest discussions reappeared after I explicitly activated the group forum option.

Just for clarification Elgg 1.2 was released at revision 2515.

Will this run on 2515/Elgg 1.2 or do we need a more recent version?

@Steve: I think the plugin makes use of some features which are new in rev 2531 (for example the ability to enable or disable forum/pages or files for each group). But as I tried it it seemed to work pretty well. But I think the options ti enable/disable forum etc. did not have an effect. But I am not too sure as I now updated to 2531.

Wait, the latest discussions disappeared but may because the forum option was disabled by default.

But with both Elgg version I have the issue that the group view is messed up with the messageboard also in the right column, leaving the left column blank.

I released a new version of this plugin that didn't have any code related with group layour overwrite. That features will be available on another plugin.
