Release notes:
This plugin is based on bosssumon Friend Request.
Please remove any previous version (< 2.0) of this plugin before uploading the current release.
Features
Let a member confirm your request to become a friend.
If a user already has you as a friend, then no request will be sent but the connection will be made immediately.
If a users has sent you a friend request and you also send a request, the friend connection will be made immediately.

This plugin has NOT been tested on Elgg 1.6, if someone could test it and share the results here. It would be appreciated.

I get a blank page after a friend request instead of the "friendship requested message"
I use Elgg 1.6.1

After making a friend request you should be sent back to the page you came from.

I downloaded and installed, Found that the aproval process failed due to linking to a invalid page.
listing.php line 32 and 33 has a URL of
actions/friendrequest/approve?guid
It should be
action/friendrequest/approve?guid
Remove the (s) from the word "actions" and the aproval then works.

@CaptJacks Bar: there is no listing.php in this plugin. You probably copied the files of this plugin over the 'old' version (1.5).
Please remove the entire plugin and install this version (you won't lose any requests)

I am getting also a white page afte inviting a friend
When i go back to the page ( trhough the browser arrow) I can see a message "You've already requested to be friends with .."
Any idea?

Hi! Is there any way to link it with invite friends or any of the contact importers? For example, even if someone is a member and they are emailed an invite using their Elgg site's email address, it doesn't show up on the invitee's Friend Request page nor on the inviter's Friend Request page. This is probably a tall order, no?

Who knows, maybe if the far future?

i found a problem... well at least i see it as a problem...
users able to write on other people msg board although they are not that person's friend. I find that to be a huge problem (stalking, harrasment, etc. ). Is there a way where u can't write on there msg board if they aren't your friends?

@muffnman89: this has nothing to do with this plugin. It's how the messageboard plugin was written. This plugin has no influence on that.

i have got 1.6.1 and im getting this error when i enable it, friend_request_v2.1 is a misconfigured plugin.pls hlp as i would like to use this :)

@marzoni are you sure you extracted all file in the ZIP. It sounds like you miss eighter start.php or manifest.xml

Try to set your messageboard configuration to FRIENDS so that only friend can see it and write on it.
