Greetings. I assume you upload both folders separately to the elgg/mods directory, as there are 2 folders contained in the zip file.   One folder is called "ad" and the other "adcategories"  Is this correct?

This is a bundle pack, means it contains two pluggins, "ad" and "adcategories" . You need to download the pluggin here, unzip it. it will produce the two folders "ad" and "adcategories" . Upload both to the elgg mods directory and Enable them

i got it working now... i think i had the modified version installed...

one thing.. when the ad is displayed the category of the ad becomes a tag... clicking on this will try to find tags with that name rather than view the ad category.. same applies for the sidebar... no results..

I noticed Ver 7 is available for purchase for use in a single domain. Is there a way we can test this in our test site and then use the same license in our production site? Or do we need to purchase 2 licenses - 1 for our test site and 1 for our production site? Also, is there a multi-license discount for multiple sites? We now have 2 production sites and 1 test site.

One more question, if I may. How heavily has Ver 7 been tested? We've found a number of elgg plugins are not tested well. If we invest in this plugin, we don't have time to test it - we want to make sure it's working perfectly, so we can start using it immediately with any problems. Please comment.

Team Webgalli, why would you have to install it for us? Doesn't it install like all other plugins do, and thus we can install it ourselves?

As far as testing it at your web site, we have already looked at the demo, is that what you mean? - and can I test the full paypal integration to see how it works - I didn't see that there.

@ Ron, I told that, We will install it for you just because we will give the support to our plugins from very beginnig. Some users have problem with unzipping the download (just see the first comment in this page), to avoid that I said I will install.

Regarding the testing, I mean you can create as many classifieds post as you like in webgalli.com and try to test that. I didnt understand what you mean by full paypal integration?

If you are planning to test it in a local host or in a non production environment, i can issue you a temporary licence.

And we have already tried the webgalli.com demo, but to do a full and true test it would have to be in our environment. What I mean by full paypal integration - I mean to see how effectively it integrates with paypal. The temporary license is a prefect solution. As soon as we are ready to test (soon I expect) I'll contact you to arrantge the license. Thank you.

@ Team Wegballi. In your demo, when I am on the All Site Classified page, and then I select any of the Categories from the left menu (books gadget, jobs, etc), for example "gadgets". I am then delivered to the specific category (gadgets) page, but there is no menu selection to return to the All Site Classifed page. I'm stuck looking in the "gadgets" only. It appears the left menu allows me to look around the whole site in groups, files, photos, albums page, etc for the tag "gadget" but there doesn't appear to be any way to return to the classifed application. How come?

Also, on the left hand menu, there is a menu selection called "item:object:webgallie_directory2 -- what is that ?

Also, when I select the "All site classifed" from any of the left hand menus, I can't find any menu selection to return to the prior pages menus, lik the weballi's classifed home page that displays the Team Webgalli's classified, Team Webgalli's friends classifed, Feburary 2010, April 2010, etc.

It seems that whenever I drill down from menu to menu, that I loose all ability to return to prior pages.

I do see that by selecting any forsale item, the left master menu appears - but from a user's standpoint when someone is shopping the classifieds, I would expect they would like to "look around" to see what's available, rather than having to select any specified item they may not be interested in to be able to continue to shop. And, if they select a category that has no items, there is no way to return other categories, etc.

Yes, I know, the "back button" works, but, of course, that's not  always true, depending on how many selections one makes beyond the prior page, and of course, we should never force the user to use the back button. For example, I got lost when I selected all the menu selection on the specific category page (users, groups, classifed posts, files, photos, top-level pages, etc).

Also, when I select the Directory category (gadgets) on the item page, I get a message that says, "This page has not been set up yet" - why is that?

And, I DID SEE the PayPal integration. Very good! I almost purchased that Tata photon for $50.

One last question - on the bottom of the left menu on several of the pages, there is a section called "Classifed Tags" how come there is no tags in there?

Ooops, one more question. When I select "Terms of use" all I get is a rotating wheel, and nothing comes up - I'm frozen and have to kill the browser to get out. Can't even use the back button.  Why?

One more question, if I may. If someone wants to place a classifed ad, but does not have PayPal, what do they do? -- Just don't place their PayPal address in the ad setup? And, if so, then will the "Buy Now" button not be shown?

I answered my own question, above - using the demo. That is correct, if one does not have paypay, then when they do not enter a paypal address in the listing, the "buy now" button is gone.

Also answered my earlier question abou the "Classified Tags". I finally do see the tags are displayed. They were hidden in the grass of the pic - green was printed on green and my eyes didn't recognize it. Which makes me wonder, since that grass pic is part of the Webgalli page, what is going to appear on our site? Guess we'll have to test it to see.

Finally, 2 more questions --

1) How does one mark an ad "Sold Out"? The demo shows it, but I don't see how to do it.

2) How does one enter multiple pictures? I only see one field entry, but the demo shows 3 houses in iem 1.

@Ron, Thankyou for the extensive teting of this plugin. MAny problems you reported was because you were on webgalli.com which is our beta testing platform  for our plugins, example,

1) the tags (its because of the theme of webgalli.com)

2) the "item:object:webgallie_directory2 -- what is that ? == thats produced by another plugin. no relation with the classifieds plugin

Then about the other problems,

The same thing happens with the all site blogs and all site bookmarks etc..in elgg. The development of this plugin has not been funded by anyone. So it may lack many features now and in the future, if we get time we will add more features to that.

6) How does one mark an ad "Sold Out"? The demo shows it, but I don't see how to do it. == while you create a cassified you need to enter the no of pieces available. when all the pieces are sold out, the system mark it as a sold out product.

Thanks for the plugin. However, I'm having a problem. The submenu items ("Your classified", "Friends' classifieds", etc.) are not appearing everywhere they should.

They show up correctly when viewing an individual ad (e.g., /pg/ad/admin/read/123/foo), but they don't show up on:

• the "All site classifieds" page (/mod/ad/everyone.php), or
  
• category pages (e.g., http://chs.axis80.com/search/?tagtype=universal_adcategories&tag=CategoryName).

I'm using the GPL version of the plugin.

It looks like the submenu items are added in start.php—but only if the page context is "ad". That will be the case for any page whose URL begins with /pg/ad/, but not for other pages.

The submenu items do appear on these pages in your demo install at webgalli.com, but you probably have a different version installed there. I also notice that your category URLs have a different structure than mine.

Can you advise? How can I get these menu items to appear in their proper locations?

The category search in the new version is different from the older GPL. now its an independent search function which will search only among the classifieds. its integrated to the classifieds itself.

Hey, it seemed you was able to add in nearly all the stuff I requested last year August! Great! (I think I should get a supper discount just for that! lol)

I've just downloaded the free version at the moment to test on my elgg 1.7.1. From then I will decide to buy it or not. Will you be keeping up with elgg builds so If I do spend big money on this, its granteed to work when elgg updates to v1.8, v1.9, v2.0, etc ?

The thing is, I want to charge the site users to be able to sell products on my site! Is this possible ??
